an opera challenging ecocide, massacring the environment, and generational conflict
Julia has a new opera project in New York City. Artist Aviva Rahmani has initiated this as continued work on her The Blued Trees Symphony. Playwright-librettist Catherine Filloux and Julia have created five scenes that will be shown at the Soapbox Gallery in Brooklyn on August 25 & 26, 2023. Soprano Lianne Coble-Dispensa, mezzosoprano Catherine Choi-Steckmeyer, baritone Ross Benoliel and pianist Joseph Vaz will be performing these scenes. Lauren Petty and Shaun Irons will be creating projections and the whole creative team will be discussing the opera-in-progress.
